DINING IN THE WILD:
AMADI STYLE

Many of the best meals in life aren’t just defined by the food, but by where they take place.

Imagine a private table set in the middle of the bush beside a roaring fire or a quiet dinner with your toes in the sand and the smell of salt in the air.

From extraordinary bush set-ups to private dining rooms tucked into the Laikipia hills, dining while on safari with us is intimate, atmospheric and, often, one of the most memorable parts of the adventure.

A time of reflection, evenings are when you look back on the day just gone – letting memories sink in while enjoying excellent food and a special set-up with your loved ones.

We’ve shared some of our most special safari culinary experiences below.

Bush Dinner AMADI Style
OUT IN THE WILD: One of the most iconic moments of a safari experience – eating under a seemingly endless sky studded with stars. As you dine, lie amongst cosy cushions and soft blankets, listening to the crackling of the fire and the surrounding sounds of the wilderness – rustling grass, birds calling and, in the distance, the haunting cry of a hyena.

Bush Breakfast Lengishu House
Tucked into a rocky outcrop on Borana or set out in the vast plains of the Maasai Mara, these are meals that feel both wild and deeply intimate – as connected to nature as it gets.

FEET IN THE SAND: Whether dining on the banks of the Zambezi River or on the shores of a private island – the sound of water in the background and a gentle breeze on your skin, this type of experience instils a rare sense of calm.

Dining in the sand Mpala Jena Camp

Enjoy your meal while watching the day fade into purple and golden tones. Flickering candles, hanging lanterns and blankets combine to create a warm and unhurried experience as dusk turns to night.

Segera Dining Table

EXTRAORDINARY TABLE SETTINGS: For those looking for a glamorous dining experience steeped in history and personality, think of Laikipia. In the region’s exclusive-use properties, every detail matters – embroidered linens, antique flatware and distinctive hand-thrown ceramics.

You’ll find whole rooms of vintage silver and heirloom crockery and dinners laid out with Hermès napkins, Patrick Mavros tableware and bespoke settings that feel closer to private art installations than traditional dinner tables.

Farm to Table Segera

FARM-TO-TABLE REFINEMENT: We believe in food that’s sourced from the land it’s grown on – fresh, in season and incredibly flavourful; food that reflects the place it comes from and people who grow it.

Farm to Table Luxury Food Setting

In Kenya, ingredients from the garden, Swahili-spiced stews and homemade breads come together in dishes that feel honest, deeply nourishing and sophisticated in their simplicity.

Wine Cellar Miavana

PRIVATE CELLARS: A good wine pairing elevates an already special occasion and encourages you to linger and let the evening unwind.
