Africa’s Coolest Mobile Camps

There is nothing that quite captures the magic of the African wilderness like staying at a mobile camp. At AMADI we love our clients to venture into remote territories. In order to do this we work with mobile tented camps, allowing you to find yourselves staying in areas where there are literally no accommodation options for miles.

In this journal, we wanted to showcase some of our favourite mobile camps out there. This list is by no means exhaustive, but hopefully gives a flavour of the incredible experiences on offer.

Barclay & Stenner, Botswana: Combining considered luxury with a real sense of adventure, this is for those seeking out secret corners of the Okavango Delta.

Selinda Explorers Camp, Botswana: Traditional in style, this stylish mobile camp takes you back in time. Use it as your base to explore the vast 135’000 hectare Selinda concession – which  stretches from the Okavango Delta to the Linyanti.

Nyasi Migrational Camp, Tanzania: A chic mobile tented camp in northern Serengeti. This is the perfect spot from which to see river crossings during the Migration season.

Lowis & Leakey, Kenya: Owner-run and guided, this offers the quintessential classic mobile tented camp experience in the Maasai Mara. And enjoy it all to yourselves, you won’t find another lodge or camp in the area.

Singita Explore Camp, Western Serengeti, Tanzania: An exclusive-use tented camp in the Grumeti private concession. In addition to wildlife experiences, this makes a great base from which to take part in community and conservation initiatives.
